    Tears of joy.

    1. Tinkle, the O.G. comic, chock-full of Kalia, Suppandi, Shikari Shambu, Tantri the Mantri, Nasruddin Hodja stories which kept us company during overnight train journeys. I can just almost hear the calls of the station bookwaala.

    2. Malory Towers by Enid Blyton is a coming-of-age book series about Darrell Rivers and her adventures in boarding school. It's jam-packed with midnight feasts, tricks on teachers, sports, misadventures and just a whole lot of school fun.

    7. Charlotte's Web by E.B. White is a beautiful story about how Charlotte, a smart spider, saves the life of Wilbur, a pig who is about to be killed for his meat. It's a story of love, friendship, courage and ingenuity.

    8. Almost all of us were introduced to regional comics with Chacha Chaudhary! He's a wise old man who is always accompanied by Sabu, a giant alien from Jupiter, and Rocket, a faithful street dog.

    9. Another amazing regional comic is Pinki, which is about a 5-year-old girl well-known for her menace and mishaps.

    10. Meet Julian, Dick, George, Anne, and Timothy, i.e., the Famous Five. They have the kind of fun all children dream of - going on trips during the holidays, picnics, and mysteries to solve!

    11. Roald Dahl's Matilda, a book about a child prodigy who uses telekinesis to solve all her problems! Honestly, every book by Roald Dahl was a delightful read.

    15. Amar Chitra Katha was a household name and those stunning graphic novels gave us all the information we could possibly need. I mean, I must've aced half my GK tests because of them.

    16. I don't think there is anyone who will disagree with me when I say that Twilight was our first YA romance novel. Vampire, werewolves, and true love....what's not to like?

    17. Another series that is immensely enjoyable is The Chronicles of Narnia which is replete with magic, mythical creatures, talking animals, and the strength of friendship, family and bravery.

    18. And finally, Archie Comics which gave us a peek into the American lifestyle of teens.
