mrsandman29 commented on 17 Famous Celebrities Who Weren't Big Names In Hollywood Until After They Turned 40

A_Panda, you're clearly not a Gen X'er, or the parent of one. "Easy Reader" was a character on the popular 1970s PBS show, "Electric Company". Bill Cosby and Rita Moreno were the original headliners, but at lot of us remember Morgan Freeman/Easy Reader more than Cosby and Moreno.…

mrsandman29 commented on 17 Landlord Horror Stories That Are Exactly That — HORROR Stories

Here's my tale: we had a roof in our apartment that leaked during a very wet winter. A leak developed in the roof, in the dining area. We reported it immediately. No response. A few more leaks developed in the same location. We reported it, again and again, each time. Still no response.…

mrsandman29 commented on People Are Sharing Movies That Truly Messed With Their Feelings, And It's A Lot

The scene in "The Sixth Sense" where Cole finally tells his mother his secret is one of the biggest tear-jerker scenes in films. Toni Collette deserved her Oscar nom for this role (and I think she should've won, not Angelina Jolie). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_2hmgezSME

UCLA has subbed for quite a few real or fictional colleges in movies and TV shows. "Legally Blonde", "The Sure Thing", "Angels and Demons", "Erin Brockovich", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "The Nutty Professor," etc., etc.

mrsandman29 commented on What Kids' TV Show Does It Seem Like Nobody Except You Remembers?

There was a cartoon I watched a lifetime ago when I was a child, about a little boy and a winged horse. I remember the characters, but nothing else about the show, not even the title. It could have been "Luno, the White Stallion" (a show no one else remembers either, for that matter).…

Yep. Pinky Lee was the Pee Wee Herman of the 1950s. It was intended as an insult to Kenickie.

mrsandman29 commented on 7 Movie Sequels That Were Awful, And 7 That Were Better Than The Original Movie

Sorry. The only good thing about "Grease 2" was Michelle Pfeiffer. "Grease 2" isn't the worst sequel of all time, but there's no way it's better than the original.

mrsandman29 commented on 23 People Shared The Music Videos They Think Outdid The Song, And There Are Some Good Ones

"Don't Answer Me", by the Alan Parsons Project. The song is good, but the music video was a lot of fun. Noirish cartoon with a tried-and-true plot that didn't really tie in with the lyrics, but that I felt was better than the song itself. It was in constant play on MTV when it first…

mrsandman29 commented on 20 Book-To-Movie Castings That People Actually Kind Of Hated

I initially thought Tom Cruise was totally miscast, but changed my mind after the movie came out. He did very well as Lestat. Dunst was fantastic as Claudia. Unlike many, I liked Brad Pitt as Louis. I wasn't so much "mad" at the casting of Banderas as Armand as disappointed. I always…

mrsandman29 commented on What Movie Ending Was So Well Executed, You Almost Weren't Upset When The Movie Ended?

"Chinatown" One of the best movies from start to finish, and a final scene/final line of dialogue that has been repeated to death just about everywhere.
