The USA and Canada were hit by record snow and frosts
The eastern coast of the US is dominated by record frosts. On the eve of the cyclone over a large part of the coast passed a heavy snowfall, even hitting the state of Florida in the south. In some areas of the US and Canada, it is expected that the temperature may drop to -29 degrees, the National Weather Service said. In the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, tens of thousands remained due to a strong wind without electricity. Huge storm waves partially flooded some areas of the New England coast (the American region, which includes the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont). Extreme weather caused the death of 19 people in the US and two people in Canada. Deaths were reported in North Carolina, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Texas. Most fatal cases were the result of car accidents and severe cold.
