The transformation of the planets in the supergiants
Scientists said that the size of some hot Jupiters exceed predicted theoretically due to the influence of their aging stars. The findings of researchers have been published in The Astronomical Journal. Hot Jupiters are the largest group of exoplanets. Their mass exceeds the mass of Jupiter, but they are located much closer to the star than Mercury is to the Sun, which makes them not only large, but also very hot. However, researchers can not explain how gas giants are so large.
