Open a new extrasolar planet - a gas giant

Using gravitational microlensing method, an international team of astronomers recently discovered a new exoplanet-gas giant, is three times more massive than Jupiter. This newly discovered planet was designated OGLE-2014-BLG-0676Lb and has become an important completion of a relatively small list of extrasolar planets discovered using the microlensing technique. Until now, using the gravitational microlensing method was discovered only 47 planets. Currently, several ground-based observatories are regularly monitoring the dense star field in the search for microlensing events.
