Betelgeuse was suspected of killing her neighbor

Betelgeuse - the red supergiant star at the right (for the observer - left) shoulder of Orion. This is one of the biggest stars known to astronomers: according to various estimates, its diameter can be compared with the orbit of Mars, and possibly Jupiter. Betelgeuse only "loose", he just 13-17 times the mass of the Sun, so its brightness falls to the edges rather smoothly, making it difficult to assess the exact size. At the same time they are constantly decreasing over the past couple of decades, the diameter of Betelgeuse was reduced by almost 20 percent.
