Astronomers: flew past Earth asteroid the size of 1.5 kilometers

Just with our planet in 2004 an asteroid missed BO41, large small celestial body with a diameter of 1,600 meters, which flew at a distance of 15 million kilometers from Earth, according to the Minor Planet Center of the International Astronomical Union. This asteroid was discovered by scientists in 2004 in the framework of research programs LINEAR near-Earth asteroids using the meter telescope at the US Air Force. Its diameter, according to current estimates by NASA specialists, ranging from 500 to 1600 meters.
