A new tool for imaging "open eye" planets

Astronomical instruments installed at the telescope "Subaru» (Subaru), located on the volcano Mauna Kea, Hawaii, and is designed specifically for imaging of planets orbiting other stars, has been successfully put into operation, and now the beginning of time to get fascinating other pictures planets, after nearly a decade of hard work to create it. While scientists first discovered the planet orbiting other stars, it was sealed with the help of instruments, located on Mauna Kea, but these discoveries were made using the general-purpose tools. Putting into operation of a new instrument installed on the telescope "Subaru", called SCExAO (Subaru Coronagraphic Extreme Adaptive Optics), specially designed and optimized for imaging planets, it opens a new era in the study of distant planets.
