The forthcoming mission of NASA to the icy satellite of Jupiter Europe finally received the official name. This mission with a budget of about 2 billion USD - which will be launched in the 2020s. To assess the possibility of the existence of life on the surface of Europe - now called Europa Clipper, although, incidentally, this name has long been used as unofficial for this mission, announced NASA representatives on Thursday, March 9. This name contains a reference to a high-speed three-masted vessel known as a clipper, which was widely used to deliver goods around the world in the 19th century, NASA explained the origin of this name.
