This "SNL" Skit Of Britney Spears And Ted Cruz Made Me Spit Out My Coffee

"I'm in a little bit of hot water. Which I'm told is a thing no one in Texas has."

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard how Sen. Ted Cruz deserted Texas and flew to Cancún, Mexico, while his state dealt with freezing temperatures and power outages.

Well, good ol' Saturday Night Live jumped on the opportunity to make fun of all this.

In the sketch, "Britney" hosted a new show called Oops, You Did It Again, where celebrities and politicians can apologize when they screw up.

When "Britney" commented on how tan "Ted" looked, he had this questionable response.

"Ted" on SNL saying "Oh no, i'm not tan. I just cried myself red over my fellow Texans"

She brought up "Ted" abandoning his state, and he addressed the backlash.

"Ted" says, "Now, I'm in a little bit of hot water, which I'm told is a thing no one in Texas has"

And he joked about his deepest regret over the past few days.

"I deeply regret my actions over the last couple days. Mostly flying United"

After she gave him a serious look, he apologized and made a very accurate observation.

Ted says "I'm sorry. I'm pretty bad at human stuff"

"Ted" also confessed to blaming the whole thing on his kids.

Ted says "Let me ask you this: Would a coward have the cojones to blame his actions on his young daughters?"

And "Britney" had the perfect response!

"Britney" says, "Well, as someone who was often blamed for other people's problems at a young age, maybe leave your daughters out of it 'cause it could really mess with their heads!"

Then they finished up their interview with some dance moves and insight into what Texans must be feeling at the moment.

"Britney" says, "You wanna dance with me, Ted?" "Ted" says, "Well, I think my fellow Texans wanna see me dance and be happy right now. Let's do it"
