Rihanna Is Donating Millions To Combat The Coronavirus, Which Confirms My Belief That She’s One Of The Greatest Women Of Our Time

Rihanna might be a bad girl, but she's got a good heart.

Rihanna is unquestionably one of the most accomplished women of her generation. She's a nine-time Grammy winner, successful actress, and the owner of the fantastically popular Fenty Beauty makeup line and SAVAGE X FENTY lingerie line.

In addition to all her usual contributions to society, Rihanna has now earned her spot as one of the most philanthropic celebs out there. The Clara Lionel Foundation she founded (which is named after her grandparents) is donating $5 million to fight the coronavirus. That's incredible!

The money is going towards protective gear, medical supplies, and access to food in several countries including the U.S., Haiti, Malawi, and Barbados. Contributions are also being made specifically to support native communities.

The coronavirus has become a serious pandemic affecting nearly every continent. As the number of confirmed cases continues to rise, it's heartwarming to see Rihanna's foundation provide essentials in this difficult time.

And as if that wasn't enough, Rihanna has also pledged to personally cover the costs of ventilators in her native country Barbados. The cost will be BBD $1.4 million or roughly $700,000 US dollars. This is huge!

#BREAKING - Barbados PM Mia Mottley announces that Barbadian songstress @rihanna has offered to purchase ventilators worth a total BB$1.4 million (US$700,000) for Barbados as it tackles the coronavirus pandemic

Plus, Rihanna has donated medical supplies to protect the staff of New York hospitals! New York has become the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S. so her generosity will help keep more doctors and nurses safe.

I want to thank @rihanna and the Rihanna Foundation for donating Personal Protective Equipment to New York State. We're so appreciative of your help and that of so many others who have stepped up. 5/5

RiRi is obviously so much more than a pop star. She's a generous superwoman using her powers for good. Plus, it's refreshing to see a boss babe remember where she's from. Her donations will inevitably save lives around the world, and that's something I won't forget.
