If You Weren't Sweating During Last Night's "Snowfall," Then You Weren't Paying Attention

    Welcome back to my Snowfall recap! This week was all about Leon's fate after he accidentally killed a 5-year-old girl, who just so happened to be Skully's daughter AND Manboy's niece.

    Here's a quick rundown of what happened in Season 4, Episode 5 — "The Get Back." 🚨SPOILERS AHEAD🚨If you haven't watched it yet, you might not want to keep scrolling.

    The episode kicks off with Leon and Fatback looking for a way out of the mess they just caused, while Khadijah and Skully mourn their daughter Tiana at the hospital.

    Leon and Fatback don't know what to do at this point, all they know is that until one or both of them are dead, they'll never be safe. Leon advises them to split up. Now, in horror movies, that's typically a bad idea, but in this case, it's probably the smartest move.

    We later see Khadijah sitting in the hospital, numb, with her daughter's blood still stained on her clothes and skin. Skully bursts through the hospital doors and immediately breaks down in tears after seeing his daughter's body.

    Meanwhile, Manboy is looking to release his pain in a different way: violence. He's ready for revenge!

    Manboy and his sister Khadijah have been on bad terms ever since he had a falling out with Skully, but Manboy's willing to put all that aside to get justice for his niece. Once Khadijah told Manboy that Leon was the shooter, he brought that information to Franklin.

    Now Manboy is expecting Franklin to show him the same generosity he showed him when one of his Crips messed up.

    But I think we all knew there was no way Franklin was going to give up Leon — at least not without a fight.

    After finding Leon sleeping in Alton's shelter, Franklin decided to set Leon up in a safe house until they figured out their next move. Franklin instructed him not to leave the house under any circumstances. Leon was physically and emotionally shook, and Franklin could tell, which turned Franklin's initial anger toward Leon into empathy.

    Turns out, there was trouble in paradise behind the scenes too.

    Not only was Irene getting closer to revealing the government was supplying and supporting illegal drugs into the United States, but now she had the backing of her newspaper to help resource these claims.

    But that's not all. Gustavo's ass showed up drunk at a family member's house and got arrested. After Reed bailed him out, Reed met up with Franklin. Franklin asked Reed to find out what the cops know about the 5-year-old girl who was shot. After these two incidents, in my opinion, Reed realized Gustavo might not be as reliable as he thought, and that the business he has with Franklin might've gone too far.

    PAUSE: OK, let's break up the real events to talk about that wild dream scene.

    At this point, Tiana's murder is literally haunting Leon, which makes sense because that just doesn't seem like something you could brush off. First, Leon dreamed Franklin and Uncle Jerome came to kill him. After Franklin pulls the trigger, he sees Khadijah laughing over his dead body. I'm thinking this means Leon doesn't feel safe with Franklin either.

    After he wakes up from that nightmare, Leon gets a visit from Cissy (she owns the apartment he's living in). Treating him as if he were her own, Cissy comforted Leon in his time of need by braiding his hair and giving him a shoulder to cry on.

    OK, back to our regularly scheduled program: Gustavo apologizes and hints at a possible character return.

    Gustavo visited Reed to apologize for being intoxicated and putting the business in jeopardy. But to ensure that doesn't happen again, he told Reed he wants to pay Fería money — $1K for every kilo they sell. He also wants to find out about what happened to Lucia. This was like music to my ears because I've been wondering about Lucia since she disappeared in Season 2. Fingers crossed that she's still alive.

    We also saw the return of some former Colombian cartel members. Irene went to visit them in jail to convince them to snitch on Reed. In exchange, she'd help them get out of jail.

    After finding out Reed set them up, they were more than willing to comply. Realizing that Irene's story holds up, her boss agreed to put more funding into her research so they could break the story the right way.

    Meanwhile, Leon and Fatback's photos are plastered all over the news, which means they'll have even more targets on their back.

    Reed followed up with a police update for Franklin, telling him the police already have Leon's fingerprints on the bullets used to kill Tiana. The police also have Franklin, Louie, and Unc listed as associates, so not only will they be looking for Leon and Fatback, but they'll also be keeping an eye on Franklin.

    As for Leon, he got a glimpse of his mugshot on TV and knew he had to get TF out of dodge. While running, Skully saw him and started shooting. Luckily, Franklin was there for Leon once again, this time as the getaway driver. Now that Skully knows Franklin is protecting him, things are bound to get a lot worse.

    Finally, word got back to Manboy about Franklin saving Leon's ass, and it rubbed him the wrong way.

    Manboy pulled up on Franklin and gave him one last opportunity to reveal where Leon was hiding. He even called Franklin out, saying he was running out of territories to supply his product, especially if Manboy and Skully fall back from him completely. But Franklin wouldn't budge.

    Manboy saw this as a green light to follow through with the war on the streets, but this time, his eyes were now solely set on Franklin and Leon, instead of Skully. Sooooooo, we have Manboy and Skully teaming up against Franklin and his crew.
