For many people, Sunday is a day of relaxation and preparation for the new work week.
But this past Sunday was filled with nothing but anxiety and excitement as fans everywhere awaited the Season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones.
And boyyyyy did HBO deliver! One of the most memorable moments from the season opener belonged to Arya Stark, played by the talented Maisie Williams.
After mastering the ability to become "no one," Arya embraces her full Faceless Men potential to take on the appearance of her latest victim, Walder Frey, aka the man who ruthlessly orchestrated the Red Wedding.
Arya uses her disguise to kill all of Lord Frey's loyal followers and then pulls off her mask like she's Harry Houdini's long lost protégé.
Then she walks out like a badass with this final message:
Well, Maisie Williams recently chatted with Entertainment Weekly to give her thoughts on the shocking scene:
When I heard first heard about the Faceless Men, I always thought it would be really cool if she switched faces with a leading character rather than an unknown person’s face. I really hope [viewers] don’t guess it’s her straight away.
And fans aren't the only ones impressed by Arya's newfound powers. The 20-year-old actor says her character is just as surprised:
It’s so f—ed up! Even Arya is surprised she has so much power. In that last moment she’s staring out at all those men dying, she’s turned into a bit more of a monster than she’s ever realized. I don’t think she’s sad about that but she’s got it on her mind.
Well, as a fan of the series, I can proudly say her darker side is definitely being praised. Continue to SLAY, Arya! (Pun very much intended.)
