Why you should watch: I've never seen a show capture the realities of grief and loss so authentically, while also proving not everyone responds to death in the same way. It will pull at your heartstrings in the best way.

2. Little Fires Everywhere

What it's about: Based on Celeste Ng's best-selling novel of the same name, the series follows several Shaker Heights residents as their lives get turned upside down when Mia Warren and her daughter Pearl move into town and become closer with the seemingly-perfect Richardson family. Ultimately, things all go up in flames.

Why you should watch: The entire cast blew me away, but watching Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon portray mothers with a vengeance is a true sight to be seen! Plus the various storylines within the series will keep you wanting more!

3. Strangers

What it's about: Isobel Song (Zoë Chao) and her best friend Cam (Meredith Hagner) learn to navigate their twenties, which means coming to terms with the realities of adulthood and their sexualities.

Why you should watch: Your twenties are a perfectly twisted mixture of confusion and exhilaration, so watching characters go through similar experiences is always a good time, especially when they're doing it with a best friend.

4. SKAM Austin

What it's about: Based on the Norwegian series SKAM, the series follows a group of students attending Bouldin High School in Austin, Texas, as they explore themes like friendship, relationships, sexuality, drugs, and more.

Why you should watch: Somehow, high school drama never gets old. The issues these friend groups deal with are very relevant. It's also refreshing to see actors that actually look like regular teens play high school roles.

5. Dave

What it's about: Rapper Lil Dicky AKA Dave is on a mission to become the best rapper in history, now he just has to convince his friends and the potential record label execs.

Why you should watch: Lil Dicky is hilarious in this fictional portrayal of his life. From his neurotic personality and naive parents to his eclectic group of friends and ridiculous rap lyrics, this show is sure to entertain.

6. Sacred Lies

Why you should watch: Let's face it, cults are fascinating. There's just no other way to put it.

7. The Birch

What it's about: Based on the award-winning short with the same name from Crypt TV, The Birch follows loner Evie Grayson after she witnesses three resident drug dealers kill someone in the woods. After they threaten her, Evie decides to take them down. In those woods lurks The Birch, a bloodthirsty monster sworn to protect the vulnerable wherever she is summoned. But it comes with a price.

Why you should watch: Audiences will have to decide whether this creature is a predator or a protector, and I'm up for the challenge.

8. Ozark

What it's about: Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) moves his family to the Ozarks after a money-laundering scheme goes wrong. He soon becomes indebted to a Mexican drug lord looking for an immediate payback. Marty and his wife Wendy (Laura Linney) decide to enter the drug and casino business to keep their family safe, but things only get worse.

Why you should watch: A cookie-cutter family gets sucked into a life of illegal drug distribution and money laundering, and despite their efforts to escape the life, they only end up getting sucked in more. It's gritty and shocking, and the acting is amazing!

9. Red Table Talk

What it's about: Jada Pinkett Smith, her daughter Willow, and mother Adrienne invite guests to their home for a candid, open conversation about some of life's toughest topics.

Why you should watch: Sitting down with everyone from Ciara to Kristin Davis, this new-age talk show will evoke laughter, tears, and a new way of thinking.

10. Limetown

What it's about: Based on the hit podcast of the same name, Limetown follows Lia Haddock (Jessica Biel), a journalist for American Public Radio who attempts to uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of 300 people in a neuroscience community in Tennessee.

Why you should watch: If you're addicted to suspense and mystery dramas like I am, then this will definitely pique your interest.

What it's about: Lily Chan (Sonoya Mizuno) was told her boyfriend's (Karl Glusman) death was a suicide, but Lily suspects foul play. In her mind, the prime suspects are her colleagues and boss, Forest (Nick Offerman), at the quantum computing company she works for. She'll stop at nothing to uncover the truth.

Why you should watch: A haunting storyline paired with beautiful imagery and great casting, what's not to love? It's an imaginative and chilling inside look at Silicon Valley and today's brightest minds.

What it's about: Five students at a South Side, Chicago high school are all impacted by a life-changing event and their individual perspectives will only lead them closer to the truth.

Why you should watch: The series, which was executively produced by Kerry Washington, consists of a great diverse cast. It's also fun watching how one event can be interpreted so many different ways.

What it's about: Tired of living in an unhappy marriage and an extremely strict Orthodox Jewish Brooklyn community, 19-year-old Esty (Shira Haas) decides to flee to Berlin in hopes of creating a new life for herself. Her new reality is quickly shattered when she realizes her husband followed her to Berlin.

Why you should watch: The miniseries is based on Deborah Feldman's 2012 biography of the same name. It's a sensitive and emotional dramatization of Orthodox living, spear-headed by Shira Haas's remarkable performance. I was on the verge of tears.

15. The Real Bros of Simi Valley

What it's about: Ten years after graduating high school, four best friends living in Simi finalize realize it's time to grow up and do something with their lives.

Why you should watch: It's basically a hilarious parody of both The Real Housewives franchise and Jersey Shore, filled with beers, beef, and basic bros.

16. Never Have I Ever

What it's about: First-generation Indian American teen Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) is determined to make her sophomore year a memorable one and making that possible means losing her virginity to the hottest boy in school.

Why you should watch: Mindy Kaling is the brains behind this hilarious new show, putting a comedic twist to her own high school experience growing up with immigrant parents. It's refreshing and just downright enjoyable.
