Frank's RedHot Sauce Always Hits Just Right, So I Tried Every One I Could Find And Ranked Them From My Favorite To Least Favorite

Let's be real, the original flavor will always slap.

I am a Frank’s RedHot addict. I don’t know what it is about the sauce that is so addictive, and as silly as it sounds, I really do put that on everything. On my last excursion to the store, something prompted me to buy every Frank's RedHot variety in stock.

I left the store with 7 different flavors. Immediately when I got home I tried each one and these were my ratings.

1. Frank’s RedHot Original

Are you surprised? Didn't think so. My number one pick will always be Frank's RedHot Original. There’s just no hot sauce or condiment like it. It pairs well with almost any food I can think of, and it’s never overpowering. It has just enough spice, vinegar, and flavor to hit the spot every time.

2. Frank’s RedHot Stingin' Honey Teriyaki Sauce

This one pleasantly surprised and impressed me. It has a reasonable amount of spice for a teriyaki sauce, hence the “Stingin',” and a distinct sesame flavor. It’s not a typical hot sauce flavor, but I can see why it’s part of Frank’s RedHot as it would be a fantastic marinade for meats and dips. If you love a sweeter or barbecue-type profile then this sauce is for you.

3. Frank’s RedHot Chile & Lime Hot Sauce

This sauce is special. Imagine if Frank’s Red Hot Original and Tajín had a baby. It pairs amazingly with any Latin-inspired food or anything that includes seafood. It’s even a great addition to a well-versed condiment such as salsa and guacamole. If you haven’t tried Frank’s Red Hot Chile & Lime Hot sauce yet then this is a must!

4. Frank’s RedHot Xtra Hot

I honestly wasn't expecting much more spice from this one but trust me, the Xtra Hot is definitely hot. This one is for anyone who is already a fan of the Original but is in need of some more spice. It is just as delicious as the original but its spiciness is pretty overwhelming. If you can handle the heat then give this one a shot!

5. Frank’s RedHot Sweet Chili Sauce

I felt a little torn on my rating for this one. It was extremely tasty. The only reason I had to score it as 5th was because it’s not so much of a hot sauce but more of your standard sweet chili sauce. The texture is very good as a thicker sauce or as a dip for veggies. I would use it on a party platter next time! There’s not much spice to it, but if you’re wanting a sweet and tangy chili sauce then this one is great.

6. Frank's RedsHot Wings Buffalo

As much as it hurt me, I did not like this sauce. It was similar to the Original, however because it’s a wing sauce it had a bit of a stronger consistency. My least favorite part was that it had an overwhelming artificial butter flavor, like the kind of popcorn you get at the movie theater which I really didn’t want in a hot sauce. I also couldn’t think of many great pairings for it other than chicken wings due to its buttery flavor.

7. Frank's RedHot Wings Hot Buffalo

Just the same as the Wings Buffalo sauce, however this was obviously spicier and the butter flavor was intrusively stronger. I can see the appeal for someone wanting a wing sauce that clearly has the spice factor as well as that rich butter flavor, but the fresh balance of a hot sauce just wasn't there for me.
