15. Buddy Garrity Jr.

A late addition to the show, Buddy Garrity Jr. showed that you could always come home to Dillon. He made his father proud by simply holding a football. Unfortunately, we really don't get to see much playing time from Garrity because of his almost instant injury.

12. Dallas Tinker

Tinker was the nicest player on the Dillon Lions. His teammates were his family. He out did himself when he helped Luke finish the fence in his backyard. You were too excited when he made the super team in the last episode.

11. Bo Miller

The cutest next door neighbor in history. Let's be real. Bo is mainly on this list because he brought out the best in Tim. Tim taught him how to fight and in return Tim turned into a semi decent person for a while.

10. Billy Riggins

Billy was not the ideal role model, but he did try hard. He had great intentions, but they rarely went as planned. He surprised everyone by becoming a good husband and father. It was somewhat amazing that he was able to get his life together by the end of the show. Minus that whole dodging jail thing...

9. J.D. McCoy

J.D. McCoy, the nerd who turned into a jerk. J.D. started off as the most innocent player on the Panthers. He had his time in the spotlight, but it was quickly taken away during State when he failed to communicate with his team. As soon as his father became head coach of the Panthers, J.D. turned into a selfish and arrogant football player. He was finally able to get the attention that he wanted.

8. Luke Cafferty

Besides that whole fake mailbox and lying to be on the Dillon Panthers, Luke was a stand-up guy. He even stayed true to Becky, even though so was super annoying at times. Luke was a strong leader, even after that whole set back with his hip. He was finally able to achieve his dreams of leaving Dillon when he joined the army.

7. Landry Clark

Ahh, the lead singer of Crucifictorious. Landry was the nerdiest player on the team. He was always willing to help out any community member from Dillon. He was incredibly brave when he protected Tyra. He even got his day in the sun when he transferred to Dillon East and became one of the main players for the Lions.

6. Jason Street

NBC / Via oldernfaraway.tumblr.com

Jason Street was supposed to be a football great. Instead, a major accident during the first game of the season left him paralyzed for the rest of his life. Jason did not let that stop him from being the greatest guy possible. He had a small set back when his family tried to sue Coach Taylor, but all was quickly forgotten when he helped coach Saracen and the rest of the Panthers to victory. He even became a father (!!) and a fancy sport agent.

5. Brian "Smash" Williams

Smash was the ultimate leaders for the Dillon Panthers. Smash had some great moments when he stood up to Mac McGill about his racial comments. However, Smash also had some poor moments when he turned to steroids in order to improve his game. You are lying if you did not shed a tear when Smash finally walked onto the team at Texas A&M.

4. Vince Howard

The best QB1 the Lions ever had. Vince was given an opportunity to turn his life around and he grabbed it by the horns. There were the few episodes where he did get full of himself, but hey who wouldn't with that many colleges coming after you!?

3. Matt Saracen

NBC / Via texasforevergifs.tumblr.com

Americas sweetheart and QB1. Matt Saracen always had more on his plate then he could handle. He was so kind and strong to take care of his grandmother on his own. He also earned major bonus points for finally having the nerve to ask out Julie.

2. Tim Riggins

NBC / Via giphy.com

Tim Riggins was the guy everyone wanted to hate, but really just couldn't. After all, he did go to jail for his brother. Number 33 was extremely relaxed about his troubling life. Riggins was the womanizer of Dillon High. Tim made you super mad when he did not believe in himself, but it passed quickly. Texas Forever <3

1. Eric Taylor

NBC / Via giphy.com

Coach Taylor would win the award for best fictional coach, ever. He taught his players how to be responsible, punctual, and how to be champions. He also was a pretty good father and husband. You are lying if you did not tear up from one of his motivational speeches. Just remember: clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.
