A week ago, subway service was cut in New York City.
Instead of fewer people on fewer trains, there's been more people on fewer trains. Essential workers still need to pack into the crowded subway cars to get to their jobs to make a living. Here's what some of the trains look like lately:

5. Platforms are crowded.
Everyone’s trying to do social distancing but with transit timing so spaced out (25min for a train 🤨) how could you as the platforms get more crowded? 🤔 @MTA

@MTA we need more trains. This isn't social distancing. I tried 3 cars. I'm an essential employee required to commute one hour each way, and have not been provided with a mask. We need to do better. It's 8:15pm on uptown 5 train in Manhattan.
