This weekend Tiger Woods won The Player’s Championship, which is commonly referred to as the golf season’s 5th major. But the biggest storyline wasn’t Tiger’s win, it was his rivalry with Sergio Garcia.
With merely two holes to play Garcia, a Spanish golfer who was involved in a pouty feud with Tiger over the weekend, was tied with Woods. The possibility of an tension-filled playoff loomed, until Sergio improbably imploded on the difficult Par 3 17th, hitting it into the water twice.
Garcia went on to hit his tee shot on 18 into the water as well. Fans and commentators called him mentally weak.
