We’ve all done it — made up a fake excuse to get out of doing something we didn’t want to do.
Usually it goes OK and no one is the wiser.
But sometimes, your lie blows up on you in the worst possible way. For example, maybe you told someone you didn't want to see that you were out of town…and then ran into them.
Or maybe, in order to go do something fun, you called out of work saying you were too sick to get out of bed….but then your boss showed up at your (empty) apartment with chicken noodle soup!
Or maybe your excuse seemed to work perfectly — until you got busted because someone tagged you in their social media posting!
