In-N-Out Burger's secret menu is so famous that the restaurant has taken to calling it its "Not-So-Secret Menu." The grilled cheese — two slices of American on a freshly baked bun served with or without lettuce, tomato, and onions — is guaranteed to please your little one.

2. You can also get a split shake or burger at In-N-Out.

You won't see this on the menu, but In-N-Out will happily split a shake at no additional cost if you have two little eaters with you. They'll do the same with a grilled cheese or hamburger, too.

This isn't a food item, obviously, but McDonald's doesn't publicize the fact that you don't have to buy an entire Happy Meal to get the toy. You can order just the toy.

If you add a hamburger patty (for an additional $1.50) to a grilled cheese, you can make a super-tasty onion-free patty melt. And if your kid likes onions, you can add those too.

Here's another off-the-menu secret about their grilled cheese: You can substitute the two slices of American it comes with normally for any of the cheeses they have (Swiss, cheddar, pepper jack, etc.). You can even get one of each if your kid would dig a cheddar-and-Swiss grilled cheese, for example.
