In 1987, the United States Congress designated March as Women's History Month citing the "achievements, leadership, courage, strength and love of the women who built America was as vital as that of the men whose names we know so well."

In order to celebrate this momentous month, we've compiled a list of 31 picture books that honor women throughout history.
