Where Should I Study At Midwestern State University?

There are plenty of tables and small rooms for you and your group. You can make small talk on the first floor, but you have to keep it to a whisper on the second floor. There is no sound on the third floor! During Finals Week, this place is open 24/7.

The Moffett Library

Part of Legacy Hall, this new area has all of the state-of-the-art technologies for studying. There is limited space, and the commons is only opened until midnight. It makes up for it with big screen TVs to work on group powerpoints or watch that funny YouTube video you've been dying to show your friends.

The Learning Commons

Set up a hammock and relax with a textbook. The calming waters are sure to keep you relaxed as you prepare for that final exam. Sikes Lake is also open 24/7, but we do not suggest camping out, as there is no electricity or shelter if it decides to rain. Watch out for the geese. They are known to bite and chase off students.

If Sikes Lake is too much water, then we have a smaller option. The Bolin Fountain is in the center of McCoy, Dillard and Ferguson. The calming fountain can relax you before a big test. Remember on windy days, the fountain does turn-off. Watch out for birds and squirrels trying to steal your snacks.

During Finals Week, the Clark Student Center closes later. In the CSC, you have everything you want. From late night snacks at Maverick's Corner, to comfy chairs in the atrium that you can take a quick cat-nap on. The computer labs have different hours than the CSC, so watch the clock.

Sometimes you just need to get in a run or lift a few weights to calm the nerves before a test. This place opens around 5 a.m. and closes at midnight during the week. Want some peace while studying? Put in some earphones and open a textbook while running on a treadmill. If that doesn't work, try relaxing in or by the infinity pool. Remember that wet books may not be returnable to the bookstore or Chegg.

Wellness Center

Sometimes you just need to relax in your own space. Why don't you bribe your roommate to go out, while you can have the dorm to yourself to get in a few hours of studying. You can also host a group session in the residence hall study rooms. Don't forget to bring some dry-erase markers for the white boards.

Residence Hall

Located in the Clark Student Center and across campus are dining halls and retail shops. Order a Starbucks drink in the Library or take your study group to Maverick's Corner and relax in the big comfy chairs. If you need more room and unlimited food, try the Mesquite Dining Hall. Times do vary during Finals Week.
