7 Things To Expect During Middlesex Freshers

So you're coming to Middlesex University - congratulations! You're about to embark on one of the most exciting years of your life, and it all starts with Freshers. Here's just some of the things to expect during Middlesex Freshers.

1. Meeting so many new people you forget their names.

We've all been there, you meet someone for the first time and within 5 minutes have completely forgotten their name so you just awkwardly point at them and call them 'mate'. Now imagine you've just met 100 new people....at least everyone's in the same boat!

2. Playing tourist in central London

With a journey of less than 20 minutes into central London, the capital will become your playground. Nights will be spent in edgy Camden and during the day, you'll be sporting an I <3 London t-shirt and taking a picture with Big Ben before you know it!

3. Trying something new

Freshers’ week is the perfect opportunity to step outside your comfort zone. From the Gospel Society to Taekwondo, you’ll have the opportunity to join one of our many societies at the Freshers' Fair.

4. Costa will become your saviour

Whether you like coffee or not, you'll soon learn that Costa is your friend. Late nights and early mornings are easily fixed by a trip to the campus Costa, which provides a wide selection of drinks to suit everyone's needs. It's also a great place to meet friends to discuss what exactly happened the night before....

5. Getting dressed up will become normal

From Rave and Shine to the Silent Disco to the boat party along the Thames, there will be plenty of opportunities to get dressed up in some rather, um well, different attire!

6. Getting to grips with the library

With its enormous collection of resources, 1000 study spaces and more than 600 computers, the Sheppard Library can seem overwhelming at first. Don't wait until the second year to get acquainted - book yourself onto an orientation tour during your first few weeks at Middlesex. This way you'll learn the best spots to study — especially handy during exam time when the crammers invade!

7. You'll meet people from so many different backgrounds

One of the greatest things about Middlesex is that it attracts students from over 140 different countries. During Freshers, you'll learn more than you ever have done about other cultures and nationalities - something that you'll appreciate for the rest of your life.
