If you're anything like me, your small kitchen is stocked with eight drinking glasses you got as a set from HomeGoods β€” and if one breaks, then you'll have seven, with no intention of ever replacing the broken one.

But having a tiny-ass kitchen is no excuse for depriving yourself of enjoying the aromatic beauty of your favorite bottle of Le Deux-Buck Chuck. So here's a list of some of the best glasses to buy for whatever your elixir of choice is.

If you're a red wine drinker, then you should probably go ahead and get a set of red wine glasses: They're larger than your average wine glass (hip hip hooray!), with a bigger surface area that'll allow the aroma to release β€” which, for those who don't chug it in one gulp like me, is an integral part of the wine-drinking experience.

Promising review: "We are red wine lovers and high-end wine drinkers. We've been through countless expensive glasses that didn't stand the test of time β€” broken stems, cracked glass in the dishwasher, flimsy glass/weight despite the price. But we're extremely happy with these! We ended up buying eight glasses! Love!!" β€”Sunny Trisha

A white wine glass should be smaller, as a smaller cup allows your chillier wines to stay cool.

Promising review: "These glasses have exceeded our expectations. They have a very nice shape and allow the wine to breathe. At the same time, they are durable without seeming overly thick and have done very well in the dishwasher. They are a great value for the money." β€”Nola9

Get a set of four from Amazon for $15.32.

If you're into the sweeter things in life, including your wine, then you're going to need a set of liqueur glasses; their small 2.25-ounce size is perfect for enjoying super-rich and sweet dessert wines.

Promising review: "These liqueur glasses are exactly what I was hoping to find! Simple and elegant, they are the perfect size for aperitifs as well as after-dinner cordials like Frangelico or Grand Marnier. Their streamlined design looks great with any style wine and water glasses, making a table setting easy. I love them!" β€”Sybille C. Denninger

A stemless wine glass can be a great multifunctional addition to any kitchen; it should be noted that they're probably better suited for reds, since the heat transferred by your hands may warm up a chilled beverage.

Promising review: "Durable, somewhat drop-resistant. I have gone through a ton of stemless glassware over the years. Arc is by far my favorite. I have crushed/dropped/cleaned so many Ridell glasses that these have become my go-to. Durable, fashionable, lightweight, and luxurious. I ONLY use these at my dinner parties now because they are so great-looking and durable." β€”Collin

Get a set of six from Amazon for $13.25.

A classy AF champagne flute is a total must for drowning yourself in bubbly, and it's the best way to do it: The shape helps retain the carbonation.

Promising review: "Classic, sturdy, and stylish. These were ordered and used during our New Year's Eve celebration and will be used again this year if all goes well in life. Would definitely recommend." β€”Amazon Customer

Get a set of four from Amazon for $26.99.

A classic coupe is another way to serve the bubbly, but it's probably better for your favorite cocktails β€” or for the sheer elegance of holding one and feeling like Leonardo DiCaprio β€” since the shape actually lets the bubbles escape.

Promising review: "I LOVE these glasses! They're very elegant and bring a little extra class to any social gathering. The glass is on the thinner side so I recommend washing them by hand carefully, but overall they work just great." β€”Gioia Skeltis

A traditional pint glass will fit your average bottle of beer β€” but they also do double-duty as everyday glasses for whatever you want to drink!

Promising review: "I was looking for good-quality, heavy beer glasses, and these really fit the bill. I can picture a nice tall glass of milk in these glasses, too. I took one out for a test drive the other night, and it could hold 12 ounces plus foam. Great handling, too." β€”tomtees

Get a set of six from Amazon for $17.66.

A wheat beer glass is designed specifically for beers that are best enjoyed with a little more foam. Its tall, tapered shape captures the carbonation, which in turn gives it its frothy head.

Promising review: "Nice glasses! They held up well in the dishwasher and are very attractive. My husband uses them with his friends when they come over. He'll chill them in the fridge and they are very nice. They have a good weight to them that doesn't make them feel cheap." β€”Madladluc

Get a set of six from Amazon for $33.99.

If you're looking for an international experience or just a bigger beer, an imperial beer glass is what you're gonna need. It's the British version of the pint glass, with a 20-oz. capacity and slight ridge toward the top that makes them easier to stack.

Promising review: "These are really good-quality glasses, very authentic to any British/Irish pub. Just remember that you'll have room if you just pour in a regular 12 oz. bottle or can of beer." β€”Elmer

The beer mug, Γ  la Homer Simpson, is the perfect way to enjoy an ice-cold beer β€” designed with a wide cylindrical opening, thick glass walls (to help insulate), and a large handle (to prevent your hands from warming up your bev).

Promising review: "Heavy, capacious mugs. They are so heavy that you have to put your hand through the handle and wrap your fingers around the mug. I freeze them, relying on their mass to keep beer ice cold. They are made of beautiful clear glass that almost looks like crystal. If you like a large, heavy beer mug, you can’t go wrong with these." β€”cv3

A highball glass is perfect for your favorite carbonated cocktail (vodka soda anyone?), because of its smaller surface area that doesn't let all the carbonation escape. It's also great for drinks that require a little bit more of a mixer.

Promising review: "It may sound crazy but I am in love with this set of glasses. They are tall, sleek, and elegant. The way they feel in your hand is perfect: not too heavy, not too light β€”Β just right. I know I will be inconsolable the day I break one, which is inevitable. I'm buying a second set just to have replacements on hand." β€”TimBoston

Get a set of six from Amazon for $22.99.

Low-ball glasses have a solid, heavy base for drinks that require a little more muddling, a neat pour, or those big fancy ice cubes you see at cocktail lounges that charge you way too much for a drink.

Promising review: "I admit it, I like to drink! There you have it. I said it. it's out in the open β€” I drink a LOT. However, I will never, ever, drink from a paper or plastic cup, let alone straight out of the bottle. My mom, may she rest in peace, taught me better. Therefore, I am always looking for quality tumblers, highballs, flutes, or wineglasses at affordable prices. This item matched my search perfectly. Not too heavy, smooth feel, easy to wash, I really like it. Cheers." β€”SB

Get a set of two from Amazon for $19.95.

Although it often seems like a martini glass is probably the most impractical thing in the entire world (how does anyone manage not to spill their drink in these damn things?), they're actually designed this way on purpose: Their shape prevents ingredients from separating, and the wide opening allows for you to get close to the beverage so you can enjoy the smell and taste.

Promising review: "These glasses are so thick and so nice! Really great to hold in your hands, not flimsy like a lot of cocktail glasses are. For example, being clumsy, I dropped one of these glasses from about a foot off of the countertop and it didn't shatter. I certainly don't expect that luck again, but that's a pretty good sign for me." β€”Bri Bird

Get a set of six from Amazon for $29.99.

A whiskey glass (which can also be used to enjoy Scotch and bourbon) is designed with a wide bowl that shows off the color and helps expose the aromas, but has a smaller opening to make it easy to sip and enjoy.

Promising review: "With some skepticism, I ordered these glasses, intended to enhance the taste of the whiskey consumed from them. I am delighted to say they DO make the whiskey taste better, more aromatic, and much more 'mild' to the taste. A great buy!" β€”D. J. Singer

Get a set of two from Amazon for $14.95.

A snifter is perfect for anyone who has a wood-paneled study and takes trips on luxurious liners β€” or anyone who just enjoys a brandy and cognac. Its wide bowl and narrow opening make it the perfect glass for swirling the f#@% out of a fancy drink, and it's also great for cupping in your hands like you're some dignitary who knows a thing or two about a strong drink.

Promising review: "I love brandy. It is not only a pleasurable experience but a great hobby. LOL! I am very picky about my label as I am about my vintage. Much more picky about the snifter I'm drinking it from. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with them and will most likely order the same set again. GREAT BUY!" β€”Blunt Truth

Get a set of four for $15.99.

Of course, we can't forget the shot glass (I'm not talking about your collection of souvenir and slightly inappropriate shot glasses you've been collecting since college, FYI). A sophisticated set of shot glasses is great for a few things: measuring out the perfect amount of alcohol, enjoying an icy tequila (and no, you don't have to guzzle it in one second while appropriating someone else's culture), or going balls to the wall but wanting to seem like an adult while you do it.

Promising review: "These shot glasses are what you would expect to see in a high-end restaurant/bar. They are very classy looking and have great weight balance. The heavy base provides better stability compared to the normal round-shaped shot glasses. I highly recommend this product, and your friends will know you put some thought into this purchase." β€”Trying_Healthy

Get a set of six from Amazon for $11.95.

And just in case you don't already have a place to store all your new glassware, you might want to consider investing in a fancy new bar cart!

Promising review: "Wow! I’m actually shocked at the quality for the price! I mean, my husband wanted a bar cart but he’s a cheapskate, haha, and most bar carts that are nice are pretty pricey! I usually shop at Pottery Barn, West Elm, etc., for furniture and home decor and honestly, I could see a high-end store selling this for double the cost if not more! It’s lightweight and I love it." β€”Heather

    Get it from Amazon $66.99.

    And always remember: Drink responsibly.
