Kim Kardashian's Facing Backlash Over Her Comments About A Charity Kanye Was Once Responsible For

Kanye, smh. Give Kim her phone back.

Hello everyone. Take a seat, because we're about to go on a ride to understand the current drama unfolding between Kim Kardashian, Rhymefest, and the Chicago charity Donda's House.

So it all started with Pusha T, a member of Kanye West's label GOOD Music. His latest album Daytona, which was produced by Kanye, featured the Drake diss track, "Infrared".

"It was written like Nas but it came from Quentin / At the mercy of a game where the culture’s missing," Pusha rapped. It's a direct reference to Quentin Miller, a rumoured ghostwriter for Drake. The whole "Quentin is Drake's ghostwriter" drama was also reason for the iconic Meek Mill/Drake beef of 2015.

In true 6 God fashion, Drake clapped back almost instantly. He dropped his own diss track titled "Duppy Freestyle" accompanied with an $100,000 invoice for the subsequent "promotional assistance and career reviving" he provided with his song.

The entire song is an attack on Pusha, with Drake ending the song with the lines: "Tell ‘Ye we got a invoice coming to you / Considering that we just sold another 20 for you." Drake said it in passing but Pusha tweeted, prompting him to go ahead and send the invoice... so Drake did. On Instagram. Lmao, petty.

On the track Drake also took the opportunity to diss Kanye as well, in order to highlight the hypocrisy in Pusha's dig against him.

"So if you rebuke me for working with someone else on a couple of Vs / What do you really think of the n***a that’s making your beats? / I’ve done things for him I thought that he never would need / Father had to stretch his hands out and get it from me / I pop style for 30 hours, then let him repeat," Drake said. The lines show that it makes no sense to drag Drake for getting Quentin's help on some verses when Drake helped Kanye write various songs on The Life of Pablo.

This brings us to the current drama. The invoice prompted Che "Rhymefest" Smith, co-founder of Donda's House, a charity named after Kanye's late mother, to ask for funding help for the forgotten non-for-profit.

Kim Kardashian didn't like Rhymefest publicly trying to drag her husband's name through the dirt, so she sent out a series of tweets voicing her opinions on the issue.

People didn't like that Kim Kardashian attacked Rhymefest personally, when the issue was with the charity. They especially detested her using a "lol, who are you again?" tactic to do it.

After Kim's Twitter rant, Rhymefest responded with a letter where he respectfully addressed the points she put forward.

Basically, he explained that he didn't care whether her followers knew of him as members of the community do, and that's what is important. Rhymefest also explained that he was directly mentored by Donda West, Kim hasn’t even spoken to anyone working for the charity, and has had nothing to do with the organisation itself. He also highlighted that Kanye often receives "positive press" from the work of Donda's House, despite doing nothing to support the organisation.

And then, after everything was said, Donda's House issued a statement explaining that they would no longer operate under the name as a result of Kim's outburst.

The charity explained that "the social media quotes from Kim Kardashian West, as well as the expressed interest of her family running the organisation, has brought us to this decision".

A second statement was issued on the Donda's House website and goes further to explain that severing ties also comes as a result of Kanye's social media use over the last few months. The statement read: "We ask that as you boycott and protest Kanye West, that you not forget that we are a non-profit organisation that, like other non-profits, needs donations, corporate support, and volunteers. We do not want your rejection of Kanye West, to be a rejection of Dr Donda West and the thousands of lives she impacted including her own son."

Following the decision of Donda's House, Kim took to Twitter, once again, to explain why she reacted the way she did. All the while, Kanye has remained silent on everything.
