1. Michael Sam, the first out gay NFL player, received the Arthur Ashe Award for courage at the ESPY Awards on Wednesday night. He received a standing ovation as he took the stage and delivered this powerful acceptance speech while fighting back tears:
“To anyone out there, especially young people feeling like they don’t fit in, and would never be accepted, please know this, great things can happen when you have the courage to be yourself,” he said.
