If only we had more than 24 hours in a day!

Bet, this thought pops into your head once in a while. As we spend 8 hours a day at work (best case scenario), and then 8 hours to sleep (again, best case scenario), and then with all Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter hysteria. I don’t even want to count how much time we are actually wasting on that! Well, there’re not that many hours left to simply make a deep breath, look around and think of that priceless life, which does not wait. Too cheesy?

What I’m trying to say, is that with our life becoming so busy and so overloaded with information and possibilities, all at once, we do need some rules to save time, energy and just to make it a bit simpler.

Here are five panacea lifehacks:

1.Eat, sleep, work out

That’s a new version of Gilbert's “Eat, Pray, Love” to be in a good mood, have plenty of energy and stay concentrated. You know what they say: a sound mind in a sound body. Well, they say it for a reason!

2.Empty brain from unnecessary info / Via

A pen and a notebook are good, but when a load of your tasks gets out of hand, it is convenient to use notifications and reminders – todo apps, which will organize it all for you. The less you have to keep in mind, the more concentrated you are on urgent objectives.

…or the alternative 3 Most Important Tasks rule. Start with something terminable in the morning, and as you perform it, keep moving to the next task. It is better reflected in Mark Twain’s: “If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.”

4.Make the internet your Timesaver not Timekiller


There are plenty of ways to do it, starting with IFTTT – an online service, that can send you a notification, when your favorite team scores a goal, or provide you with the everyday weather forecast. Also, there is that ManualsLib, which will be helpful in case of losing your washing machine instruction book, or a traffic app, like Waze. Guess, there’s no need to explain what it is for.

And the one I find to be a godsend for saving time – NetWaiter. Use this online system to order a dinner, find local restaurants or get updates from their +Favorite places.

5.Pal up with Pomodoros


No, it’s not a person or vegetable (‘pomodoro’ is an Italian word for tomato). It’s a brilliant time management method, which breaks down your work into 25 minute intervals, separated by 10 minute breaks. This method was named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer, the Pomodoros developer, Francesco Cirillo, used for his students.

Use a usual timer or get yourself an app: either way that will help you to concentrate on a task and to boost productivity. Your brain will love it!

In conclusion

As you see, managers and app developers have invented it all for you already. Go ahead and use your energy and skills wisely. And don’t forget to rest once in a while. Sometimes a new Big Bang Theory episode boosts your productivity much more effectively, than any super abstruse management technique.
