Response to Watch 100 Years Of Korean Beauty In One Minute:
The only thing that seems inaccurate to me (based on my limited exposure to the culture and trends) is South Korea in the 2010s. I have yet to see girls from SK wear so much make up. In fact, they focus on glowy skin and light, youthful makeup tricks. Pretty much what they said about the North. I have however seen that heavy makeup look from ads for the prostitution and foreigner districts, and in general, in the Asian-American demographic. (No, heavy makeup does not equal prostitution in the US. It is just more common to wear heavier makeup here.)
Moms get most of the credit, glad someone acknowledged the good dads!
Response to This Hilarious Parody Of Disney’s "Frozen" Will Instantly Be Relatable To Altos Everywhere:
Um no…this is all wrong.
Idina Menzel is pure ALTO with some awesome Mezzo belting skills. And to amend what someone else said, Demi Lovato is also in the alto/mezzo range. Just because this girl has poor vocal range doesn’t mean Disney makes songs only for sopranos. As a soprano, I find myself wishing Disney wrote songs that were higher. Because most are written for altos and mezzo sopranos. I’d love to reach the stratosphere with one of their songs one day. Snow White was pretty much the only true Disney soprano. Jasmine and Rapunzel being close.
