    1. A dip powder kit so they can perfect their at-home manicure and save money in the long run. The powder dries in just 30 seconds, and reviewers say the color stays chip-free for weeks.,

It comes with six colors and four dip powder liquids.

Promising review: "With COVID-19 shutting everything down I wanted to find something I could do from home to keep my dip nails looking good! This kit is amazing. You get six colors and all of the necessary polishes/activators. The top coat dries in under a minute, no kidding. My two recommendations for success with this product would be to 1) keep each layer very thin. This keeps it from being lumpy or uneven. 2) purchase some buffing and filing blocks like they have at the nail salon, these buffed the dip out perfectly smooth. Overall, highly recommend. Can’t wait to try more colors." —Mary Jenkins

Price: $32.99+ (available in three styles)

    2. A handy puzzle board if they're big on puzzles but small on space. It comes with a removable assembly board that can hold a 1,000-piece puzzle, and the case itself has five sorting trays and two handles for easy carrying.

The puzzle board with portions of a completed puzzle on it and puzzle pieces in the sorting trays

Promising review: "Love this product! Gone are the days of not being able to use my dining room table because it is covered with a puzzle. I love the sorting tray. The puzzle board is easy to work on. When I am finished working on my puzzle for the day, I place the puzzle board on top of the sorting tray and snap the lid shut. I no longer am concerned that our small grandchildren will mess up the puzzle. It easily stores under our bed or vertically beside the dresser!" —L. Rohrer

    Price: $69.99

    3. A 1,000-piece murder mystery puzzle that'll keep the whole family occupied for hours. And it's basically two gifts in one! Once you put together the puzzle, read the included booklet and try and figure out whodunnit.

    The puzzle

My parents bought one of these puzzles at the beginning of quarantine and recently sent me one. I forgot how enjoyable puzzles are, y'all! Space is limited in my small apartment so I actually put it together on my living room floor. (Honestly, a puzzle mat would have been great because we basically had to avoid the corner of the room where the puzzle was.) It was nice to take a short break during work and piece together the puzzle bit by bit. My partner and I also enjoyed having a shared activity since we usually go do our own thing after dinner; this was a nice way to bond even though we spend basically 24/7 together.

This is the bidet I use and I 100% recommend to my friends, family, and to you, dear reader. Installation was pretty simple; from start to poop it took about 15 minutes. The sensation say the least but you definitely get used to it. In fact, I recently moved apartments and it's taken me awhile to hook up the bidet (I'm a procrastinator, OK?!). Oh how I've missed my bidet during this time (and I'm sure my butt feels the same way). But seriously, I cannot stress how life-changing getting a bidet is.

    9. A dog DNA kit that'll show them exactly what kind of dog your beloved rescue mutt is.

Diagram showing breakdown of dog's genetic makeup

Promising review: "I was searching for reasonably priced DNA tests for my dog, and while this is on the expensive side, it was WELL worth the money. I have a rescue dog who I thought was a shepherd mix. She is actually a purebred German shepherd, and as most people know, GSDs are very prone to a lot of health conditions. If I had chosen a different DNA test, I would have spent hundreds of dollars getting her tested for different health conditions common to GSD. With Embark, I didn't have to pay extra. And she came back as clear for all the genetic diseases they test for. They have even helped me figure out some things about her from the surveys and questionnaires they have available. I recommend this test to everyone who is looking for a DNA test." —Jessica Allenbaugh

    Price: $135

Having said that, I’ve researched my family history back to the 1100s and the results they came up with are 95% in correlation to what I’ve come up with. I’d say this was money well spent! Easy to use. Just follow the directions and mail it in. There’s several reviews on here saying their samples got rejected and the purchasers would never use the product again and it’s hard to use... after using the product myself I’m not sure how it’s possible to screw this up! All you have to do is spit in a tube!!! EASY!" —EHC

    Price: $129

    11. A pair of ankle socks, because all the book lover in your life wants for the holidays is a few blissful uninterrupted hours to read.

Reviewer photo of their mom wearing the socks while reading a book

    14. Hand Lettering 101 if your pal wants to improve their penmanship. Also, Meghan Markle did calligraphy before she met Prince Harry, and I'm not saying that this book will help them marry their own prince, but I'm also not saying that that is outside the realm of possibility.

Promising review: "Not only is this introductory book beautifully put together, but the author also helps you to build your own beautiful style! She provides easy-to-follow guides and plenty of room to practice. Overall, she provides the tools a new hand lettering artist needs in their toolbox and references for different alphabet styles that I continuously look at to practice lettering. I’ve been practicing lettering for awhile and have picked up a couple books here and there to practice with, but this book really took my hand-lettering to the next level physically and with confidence. I also really appreciate that the author used good quality paper to practice on, as I’ve used other books with poor quality paper that has ruined some of my pens. Definitely recommend this to any and especially new hand letterers!" —Melissa

    Price: $21.99

    15. A pair of flattened hoop earrings that'll add some bling to your look. ~Hoop~ there it is — and by "it," I mean a beautiful and timeless pair of earrings.,

I'm bad about dropping earrings and I've dropped these a few times and the clasps haven't broken nor have the earrings bent. They're also not heavy, which makes wearing them very easy. I love the size as well, not too overbearing. You can dress them up or dress them down!" —Taylor

Price: $9+ (available in eight sizes and three finishes)

    16. A set of floral abstract prints for your sister who just bought a home and who has been so excited to decorate it but doesn't know where to start.

Some may say it’s expensive but I’ve seen similar prints at Target for $10 EACH. For these you get six for $20, which is a great deal IMO. Super cute and totally recommend." —Joanna

An AeorPress sitting on top of the 2Pour base, which has two spouts for liquid on opposite sides

Promising review: "This splitter is awesome! Since I've had my AeroPress, I was always trying to ensure that the coffee was split evenly between me and the missus' cups. This does the splitting for you! Really sturdy and strong. You don't have to worry about crushing it when you are pressing down on your AeroPress. The jar

But I gotta tell ya, this delectable heaven-sent powder is one heck of an addictive and more versatile option. Utterly AMAZING on popcorn, in eggs, added to soups and sauces to layer flavors, veggies, PASTA...the list is endless (I think the only thing I haven't tried was sprinkling it on ice cream...although LOL). It is a bit salty, so I advise testing the waters first. But I just ordered my ninth and tenth bottle of the Truffle Zest...I wonder if there are 12 Step meetings for condiments?!? Just let go of your 'only a TRUE truffle is a truffle' baggage and order it!! I'll see you at the meetings!" —Greengirl

Promising review: "Actually pretty damn trippy! Once you let the pill dissolve in your mouth and you spread it around, your taste buds are in for a ride. I gave it to my coworkers and they were all tripped out. I ate lemon and a lime like it was an apple, so sweet I imagine like the fruits from the garden of Eden. Seltzer water has a taste, foods taste better. It's just a trip. Lasts about 30 to 45 minutes. It does take like five minutes for the pill to dissolve. The pens, which have cat-shaped tips and cat designs on them

Promising review: "These pens write really well, are superfine, and pretty adorable. I didn't think I would like them so much and was worried they would smear really bad (I'm left-handed), but they don't. The caps stay on nice and tight and is easy to stick on the end of the pen while you're using it and won't fall off. My only recommendation would be to go EASY on the pens until you find the right grip and pressure for writing. The metal tips are very fine, so you want to be careful when writing as you can put indentation on your paper, or might even bend the tip. Now I just have to make sure people don't steal them from my desk..." —Laurabear

Promising review: "This is a fantastic party game. I have played with as few as two and as many as 10 people and it worked great with any size group. The rules make this game seem very simple but that is where it deceives you. You'll have a blast trying to think of clues to link the words you're given." —J.D.

    Emma Lord / BuzzFeed, Amazon

My colleague Emma Lord bought these and loves them. In her own words:

"I bought these for myself, and I love them to pieces. TBH, I use them as decor every bit as much as I use them to eat. Sometimes I just keep them in my work area to light them up during the day to feel fancy. They toggle back and forth between a bunch of different colors, like red, blue, yellow, purple, and multicolor, so you can either make them match *or* have a red and blue one together and bring ~balance~ to the Force."

Promising review: "I purchased these for a friend's birthday present (he is a sushi waiter) and these are flippin' AMAZING. The top doesn’t roll and they’re not see-through in the back, so I am confident that I’m fully-covered all day long. I have worn them to work out as well and they felt great! I do wish they were a true dark pigment, rather than a gray/blue/black color, but my co-worker told me she didn’t even notice the off-black color even when I paired these with a white and black shirt." —Kasey Sumearll

Promising review: "Great-looking product. Everything sits perfectly and the cable management at the bottom is wonderful. However the new lightning cable for the iPhone 11 Pro Max doesn’t fit its designated space; it is too chubby. I had to use the cable from an older model and since the other end of the new cable is USBc I also couldn’t use the original charger for the 11 Pro Max. The seller reached out to me and was super nice. Gave me an upgrade for a charger compatible for the iPhone 11 Pro Max." —Roberto Gomes

Price: $25.99 (available in four colors)

    34. A side-tie sweater so cute you'll get ~wrapped~ up in its spell., Amazon
