The Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters is one of my favorites. It’s historical, set in the late 19th & early 20th century, following a family of Egyptologists through digs and adventures with nefarious people. The author is an Egyptologist so it’s accurate and entertaining!
I love the Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters. It’s set in the late 19th and early 20th century and focuses on a family of Egyptologists and their adventures in Egypt. Elizabeth peters is an Egyptologist as well, so in addition to being full of wonderful action, mystery, and a little bit of romance, it is mostly accurate! There are 19 books in the series, and peters wrote a few other series as well, all with an archaeological slant to the mystery. Well worth a read!
I’ve had a number of hospital visits over the years, but this was teh worst: When I was in ninth grade, I was waiting to jump off the diving board at the indoor pool. I took my foot off the ladder where it was resting, lost my footing, and fell flat on my face. this resulted in four of my front teeth coming out, deviating my septum, and busting my chin and lip. thankfully I had braces at the time, so my lost teeth were still attached to my braces and didn’t fall into the chlorine. i went to the hospital to get checked out and get a pain shot and then had to drive an hour to my orthodontist’s main office to have my teeth put back in. I couldnt’ eat solid food for a couple of weeks, and every employee at the orthodontist office heard my story for years. now I have a few additional scars and could have to have my front two teeth replaced at any time because the roots have calcified. Needless to say, I haven’t jumped off a diving board since.

Response to The 10 Coolest Dead Languages:
I know #4, 2, and 1! This makes me feel better that the majority of my languages are dead.
Response to Ancient Vs Modern Olympics:
If you cheated in the ancient Olympics a statue of you was put on the ancient “wall of shame” and you had to pay for the statue.
Also, at one point, they started making the audience come naked because women weren’t allowed and a couple of moms snuck in to see their sons compete.
Response to Movies You Should Never Watch With Your Parents:
Black Swan. Now every time my mom sees anything about Natalie Portman she says something about her being disgusting.
