Response to Tell Us Your Worst Interview Experience:
While I’ve had many embarrassing interview moments myself, the most awkward interview I’ve been in was one I conducted. I was interviewing janitorial positions in an unemployment office in a small town in mid-Michigan and was taking walk-ins so I never really knew what I would be getting. I walked a lady back to an office I was using in a remote corner and reviewed her shady job history. I asked her about her last job & why she left & after some pulling she finally admitted she was fired. After pushing further she admitted she was fired from the job as a care worker at a home for the mentally challenged because she left a second story window open and several people fell out and died. She told me this complete straight-faced, no sympathy, no regrets, did not believe she deserved to be fired. She was a murderer by negligence. I knew I wasn’t going to hire her half way through reviewing her resume but sometimes I liked hearing people’s stories. I got a little more than I bargained for.
