I cried the first time I watched the Will Ferrel comedy, Step Brothers. And I mean real, chest heaving sobs. I was home alone on a Saturday morning and I believe I was a sophomore in high school. It was that scene where Will Ferrel is performing with a choir and everyone laughs at him, everyone is making fun of him including his brother and it just made me so sad. I think it’s because I felt lonely, and a bit like a loser so much so that I related so strongly to what was meant as merely a farcical comedic scene.
