Your bucket list is about to get a hell of a lot longer!

1. Watching the Northern lights from your very own glass igloo

Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort in Finland is an actual winter wonderland. When you're not snuggled up in your dome waiting for the Northern lights to flash across the sky, you can participate in other amazing winter activities such as reindeer or husky sledding, ice fishing, snowmobile safaris and skiing.

2. Exploring Machu Picchu

If you are feeling fit, you can hike the Inca trail for four days to get to the top of Machu Picchu. If hiking isn't your thing, there is a train you can take. Either way you get to see a World Heritage Site with amazing views (and hopefully get a photo with a llama!).

3. Volunteering overseas

Via workingabroad.com

Travelling while doing some good? Yes please! Especially if it involves helping wildlife, such as sea turtle conservation in Costa Rica. Many of the organisations have you staying with local families and enjoying their cooking, so you get a unique experience getting to know the culture.

4. La Tomatina

Via newsroom24x7.com

La Tomatina is literally just a giant food fight with tomatos. Held in Spain every August, if you don't mind getting messy you'll have a lot of fun. Just be sure to book tickets and accommodation early as there are a limited amount!

5. Sliding down the Swiss alps

If you're looking for some adventure and some great scenery, then look no further than this slide in Switzerland. Damn it Switzerland, why you gotta be so beautiful?

6. Cruising the Greek islands

Honestly, does this need a description? Just look at the picture, pure heaven. The Greek islands have beautiful beaches, fresh food, volcanic craters and some great bars and clubs. Or you can just hang out and stare at the postcard-perfect scenery.

7. Cheese rolling in England

An annual event where people chase a giant wheel of cheese down an insanely steep hill. Probably best to spectate rather than participate, but bound to be incredibly entertaining.

8. Waitomo Glowworm Caves

Via sites.psu.edu

A little bit of magic on the North island of New Zealand. Taking a boat ride through the caves under the lights of the glow worms, you'll feel like you're in a fairytale.

9. See pandas in China

Via panda.org.cn

The best place to see pandas is at Chengdu Research Base in China. Unfortunately it looks like they don't allow you to hold them anymore, so if that is your goal you can visit Dujiangyan Panda Base.

10. Drive through a Redwood tree

Via redwoods.info

There are three redwood trees that you can drive your car through, all on the north coast of California. This is exciting purely for the novelty of it, how often can you say you've driven through a tree? There are also some beautiful scenic drives, forests and state parks nearby, so you can take a road trip and experience some more natural wonders.

This of course is only just scratching the surface of all the amazing experiences that the world has to offer. So get out and start planning, and start saving!
