If you're a twenty-something who has reinvented themselves in college, this show is perfect for you. The Sex Lives Of College Girls is a comedy that follows the complicated lives and friendships of four college girls from completely different backgrounds who find a common thread in the mishaps of being on their own for the first time. From attending naked parties to bad luck with dating – these four girls will have you laughing, crying, and screaming at your screen.
Social justice fighters will adore Freeform’s Good Trouble, a drama that highlights diverse social issues through the lenses of young people. This show follows the lives of a group of multicultural twenty-somethings pursuing their dream careers, falling in love with each other, and fighting for what's right. The show is a spin-off from Freeform’s The Fosters, following adopted sisters Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) and Callie (Maya Mitchell) to L.A. as they move into a shared living space and meet their chosen family. Good Trouble highlights real-world struggles for women, people of color, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, those struggling with mental health, and so much more.
For the twenty-somethings, high school might feel like both yesterday and an eternity ago, but this show still is relevant to those who have graduated. This show’s 16-year-old main character Ginny (Antonia Gentry) navigates plenty of grown-up problems, including a complicated mother-daughter relationship, severe mental health struggles, and a major identity crisis, all while growing up in a predominately white town as a biracial girl.
Everybody loves a good spin-off, am I right? This show is a sitcom spin-off from ABC’s hit show Black-ish that follows eldest daughter Zoey Johnson (Yara Shahidi) to college where she experiences the good and bad of adulthood.
This show is a drama that dives deep into the world of football and drama. All America is about the career of a prodigy football star named Spencer James (Daniel Ezra), who moves from his lower-income community of South Crenshaw, LA, to Beverly Hills to pursue his dream of one day playing in the NFL. Spencer meets a football coach (Taye Diggs) that takes him under his wing and becomes a father figure. This show transitions the main characters effortlessly from high school to college through the seasons and has something for everyone: sports, love, music, friendship, family, and heartbreak.
A modern-day drama revamp of the '90s sitcom, Bel-Air follows Will (Jarbari Banks) as he moves from West Philadelphia to Bel Air. He's soon centered in a world that's different from anything he's ever known, as he navigates through social issues, mental struggles, and even conflicts with his family and friends.
Another modern reboot show, this is a gender-swap of the 2000s sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Different from it's elder, How I Met Your Father follows freshly turned 30 Sophie (Hilary Duff) as she tries to balance work, friendships, and love in busy modern-day New York. This show really capsulates what dating is like in 2023 and how you truly don't know where life is going sometimes.
