8. The Drunken Botanist by Amy Stewart that'll be the perfect gift for the bartender in your life. Stewart explains the science behind your favourite cocktails and all of the herbs, flowers, and fungi they're made from. Botany and booze — what more could you ask for?

9. The Big Activity Book for Anxious People that I'm probably going to get as a gift for myself this year, TBH. This book will keep their mind occupied and give them something to do with all of their apprehensive energy.

10. A copy of Delirium by Lauren Oliver that's set in a dystopian world where love is forbidden, and everyone is "cured" from this dangerous disease on their 18th birthday. The main character Lena is looking forward to a safe life free from love — until she meets Alex.

11. A copy of From Crook to Cook by Snoop Dogg that's definitely not your average cookbook. It's full of personality and delicious ideas that'll be a recipe for success as a gift for your foodie friends.
12. Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur, a poetry book about love, loss, and everything in between. The smaller size and minimalistic designs make this a great stocking stuffer for someone who doesn't have the time to read a full novel!

13. A copy of Carson Crosses Canada for the little one in your life. The beautifully-illustrated children's book is about Carson the dog's road trip from British Columbia to Newfoundland. With his owner, Annie, he takes in the landscapes of each province along the way.

14. I'll Be Gone in the Dark for that friend that can't get enough of true crime. The author, Michelle McNamara, dedicated herself to finding the identity of the Golden State Killer, a serial killer rampant for over ten years in California in the '70s and '80s.

15. A copy of Why We Sleep for the insomniac you know. Author and neuroscientist Matthew Walker has spent his life studying this phenomenon that we spend hours doing but don't fully understand, exploring topics like why some people are grumpy in the morning and how childhood sleep patterns can affect IQ.
