The film is set in a dystopian future where Logan alludes to most of the mutants being wiped out.
We also see the familiar face of Professor X (Patrick Stewart) looking equally withered by time.
The two encounter a ~mysterious young girl~, played by Dafne Keen, whose identity has yet to be confirmed, but all clues point to her introducing the world to X-23 aka Laura Kinney.
X-23 is one of the few successful attempts at cloning Wolverine, and what better way for Jackman to bow out of the X-Men franchise than by introducing a kickass clone to fill his spandex.
There's also a red band trailer that is almost exactly the same EXCEPT it gives us a hint at the more intense violence we can expect.
