On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the kids of Stranger Things were visited by a dearly departed friend: BARB.

OK, it's actually the Tonight Show's head writer, A.D. Miles, in a glorious Barb getup.
First up, the kids got a visit from their ol' pal Steve.
And he had a surprise for them: BARB!
And tbh, she wasn't so happy with how things turned out.
She was also REALLY unhappy with her so-called "BFF", Nancy.
How is she back, you ask? Apparently Barb made a sneaky trade with the Demogorgon...and gave Will back to the Upside Down. Meanwhile, Will had this to say on the matter:
And while the Stranger Things creators confirmed #JusticeForBarb in Season 2 (which was just announced), apparently she's decided she'll be starring in a spinoff of her own.
