33 Photos Of Giant Human Towers That Give Us The Best Squad Goals

Participants in Spain were trying to build the highest and most complex human tower ever.

The 26th Tarragona Competition in Tarragona, Spain, saw thousands of people come together to build giant human towers on 2 October.

It's a Catalan tradition that originates from the end of the 18th century and was created by dance groups of the time. The teams competing are known as "collas".

Those who take part are known as Castellers; they compete to build the highest human tower, or "colle".

The Xiquets de Hanghzou (below) are a Chinese colla who you can see here competing for first time.

The tower can be made up of up to 50 men and women, and can reach 10 levels high.

A technique used by collas is to have the strongest members at the base and the lightest perched at the top.

The competition can attract up to 20,000 spectators.
