Entertainment to Look Forward to In 2017: Power Rangers, Netflix, AMC and DC Entertainment

Power Rangers

Release Date: March 24, 2017

Lionsgate released a teaser trailer for the hugely anticipated 2017 film, Power Rangers.

Angel Grove, and its' five teenagers with attitude, aren't as squeaky clean as we remember.

Jason is seen wearing an ankle bracelet and is sentenced to detention where we first meet Billy and the rest of the color squad.

The best thing about the trailer was watching Rita Repulsa attack the yellow ranger in her sleep.

What a cold-hearted witch!

Furthermore, Goldar is set to appear as Rita's loyal henchman.

No word yet on Scorpina, Squatt, Baboo, Finster or the Puddy Patrol.

Will the film allude to Lord Zedd, the most sinister villain in the Power Rangers universe?

To find out, teleport to a theater near you in March.

Go, Go Power Rangers!!!

Release Date: 2017

Say Goodbye to Ultimate Spider-Man.

Disney XD will replace the beloved series, voiced by Drake Bell, of Nickelodeon fame, to introduce a new Spider-Man animated series. No doubt a tie-in to Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The series will take Peter Parker back to his teenage roots.

the Defenders

Release Date: TBD

New York City Comic Con panel pics for the Defenders showcase Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) playfully huddled together.

Surprisingly enough, Sigourney Weaver has signed on to play the main antagonist to the Defenders. Rumors say her character will have ties to the Hand.

Iron Fist

Release Date: 2017

Marvel dropped a full-length trailer for Marvel's/Netflix's joint venture, Iron Fist, the remaining member of the Defenders.

The series stars Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist, whom deals with villains by the use of his mystic fist and martial arts skills.

the Walking Dead

Season Premiere: October 23, 2016

Footage of the Walking Dead, season 7 premiere was shown to attendees at NYCC. The footage featured Rick Grimes dealing with the aftermath of Neegan's kill/kills.

It is said to be great.

the Punisher

Release Date: TBD

Netflix has finished production on the Punisher, starring the Walking Dead Alumni, Jon Bernthal.

Fans can recall Bernthal made his debut appearance as the Punisher on Season 2 of Dardevil, delivering his special brand of vigilantism.

The Punisher is said to make another appearance on Iron Fist, before appearing in his very own series.

The Batman

Release Date: 2018

To no one's surprise, the new standalone Batman film, starring Ben Affleck has been titled the Batman.

As loyal fans already know, Joe Manganiello will star as Batman's main adversary, Deathstroke.

With what we have seen thus far in the film, Batman v Superman, things will get pretty brutal and intense, with a well-written script penned by Affleck and his team.

It could very well be the best Batman adaptation yet.

Justice League

Release Date: November 17, 2017

After much criticism for being dark and joyless, Warner Bros. has tried its best to appeal to a broader audience.

Insiders claim that the upcoming Justice League film will be fun.

A featurette released by Zack Snyder, presented a lighter side of the DCU.

A recent pic of Mera has been floating around the inter-webs and it's good.

Mera is the Queen of Atlantis and the wife of Aquaman. She will appear in the Justice League film.
