Foursquare’s Super Crowd-Sourced Scores

Foursquare’s steady evolution into the new Yelp just took another step forward — it’s now scoring locations on a scale of 1-10, designed to “give you a quick sense of how much people love it,” based on “signals like tips, likes, dislikes, popularity, loyalty, local expertise, and nearly 3 billion check-ins from over 25 million people worldwide.” Big data comes to restaurant rankings, in other words.
