Even though Missouri was an in between state, Quantrill was extremely pro-slavery. And was in the Conferderate army. However, after this raid, the Confederacy disowned Quantrill for his lack of human rights. And yes, the people that didn’t think Blacks as equals and were property thought that Quantrill had some messed up views.
