When people on the news or on Capitol Hill talk about “women’s issues,” they often limit their discussion to issues like equal pay and reproductive healthcare. They don’t discuss how all issues, ranging from Social Security to education to national defense, affect all women. Here we try to dispel the idea that “women’s issues” are separate or unique from the needs of all American citizens, because all issues are women’s issues. Last week Republican candidate for Massachusetts Governor, Charlie Baker, released his plan for higher education in the Commonwealth. Over the past 8 years, Governor Deval Patrick has made college more affordable all while increasing the overall quality of higher education in our state. College students are aware of Baker's attempts to cut funding to education in the 1990's and we will be showing up to the polls this November.
