25 Things That Might Steal You Away From The Internet For A Few Hours

Remember fun without phones, social media, and notifications?! It's baa-aack.

We hope you love the products we recommend! All of them were independently selected by our editors. Just so you know, BuzzFeed may collect a share of sales or other compensation from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them. Oh, and FYI — prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication.

    1. A vintage Scrabble game that'll give word nerds a reason to be snobs about vocabulary and proper spelling. This iconic crossword-creating game can soak up hours of well-spent time — especially when everyone is doubled over around the board laughing at the person who just got challenged for trying to sneak a word on the board that's DEFINITELY 👏🏾 NOT 👏🏾 A 👏🏾 WORD.

The Scrabble game will come inside of vintage book–style packaging from 1948 which means when the game is over, you can pack it up and store it right on your library next to the beloved books that probably taught you some of the words you'll use to win game after game.

Promising review: "Great addition to our board games and the best part is we can keep it on our bookshelf and it blends right in!" —Dalton

Get it from Amazon for $30.99 OR snag the traditional version for $42.99.

    2. The LEGO Architect Book to dive into the history of architecture AND step-by-step instructions to make 12 LEGO models inspired by styles from different eras like art deco, modernism, and high-tech. Call me silly, but perusing a LEGO book and then building a cathedral with blocks will probably be way more fun than scrolling through the architecture pages you follow on Instagram.

Don't just 'like.' BUILD — with a snack on the side and some music playing.

Promising review: "THIS is the book that SHOULD HAVE come with my LEGO Architecture Studio set! This is the best LEGO book I have come across. It not only gives a brief yet concise history of different architectural styles in each chapter (plenty of beautiful pictures of famous buildings and LEGO model creations with great tips and ideas) BUT it also gives you this: At the end of each chapter the author gives you a detailed model to build (with your LEGO Architecture Studio set) that represents that chapter's architectural style! I want more books like this one. Perhaps an entire series?!? This is definitely a must-have for anyone who loves small-scale modeling with LEGOs, especially if you too have the LEGO Architecture Studio!" —K. Irvine

Get it from Amazon for $18.08.

    3. The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook that'll have you holed up in your kitchen for hours conjuring up cauldron cakes, Treacle pudding, and Knickerbocker Glory., Amazon

    The cookbook has 150 recipes.

Promising review: "This cookbook is perfect for Harry Potter lovers. Although there is no butterbeer recipe (which was unfortunate), there are so many other great recipes! I loved how each recipe came with a description of how it was linked to Harry Potter and even a historical description of the recipe itself! England is my favorite country so learning about their favorite dishes and how they came to be is something really cool. This book is very well-rounded. There are side dishes, main dishes, desserts, snacks, holiday recipes and more. I highly recommend this cookbook! 🙂 Also, the beef stew with herb dumplings is the best stew I’ve ever had." —Bradley Buford

Get it from Amazon for $10.95.

    4. An Everyday Mindfulness word search book to provide the fun of the old school word searches paired with topics that are meant to relax your mind. The word searches also have cool twists like clues to solve to get the word you'll need to find.

The book has 84 word searches and an answer key.

Promising review: "I love this word search book! It is perfect for when I just want to relax and get away from screens. The searches aren’t very difficult but they aren’t so simple that you are bored within minutes." —Meredith Gray

Get it from Amazon for $7.98.

    5. An indoor snowball fight game so you and the squad can enjoy one of winter's most beloved pastimes whether flakes fall outside or not. The balls are actual-factual snowball size and they'll crunch when you squeeze 'em too!

You can spend a huge chunk of time running all over your house like the good old days and then "warm" your fingers up with cups of hot cocoa when you all get tired!

Promising review: "These were a fun Christmas gift! We actually enjoyed a 'white' Christmas this year!!! It was a lot of fun throwing these around and playing games with them. They feel like snowballs — kind of like a knit ball with a 'stretch-Armstrong' kind of filling; much like the material used in stress balls comprised of baking soda and other elements. They don't hurt and are soft enough not to do much damage to household items if used indoors. Great idea!" —Patty

Get it from Amazon for $24.95.

    6. A DIY comic book kit with pre-formatted blank pages, markers, and a booklet of tips so you can create your own universe and story. Once you're done, just slip the pages into the mailing address provided and in a few days, a professionally bound version of YOUR comic book will be at your door.

    7. An Escape Room game that'll bring the fun of those trendy mystery game rooms straight to a tabletop in your house. It comes with three scenarios (The Dentist, Secret Agent, and Space Station) at varying levels of difficulty.

Like IRL escape rooms, the games are timed to a single hour but ~also~ like IRL escape rooms, it might take you and your team a lil' longer than that but it's all good because the point of it is for you all to put your noggins together and have some mind-bending fun.

Promising review: "I was super nervous about this but decided to buy it and I am so glad I did. Who knew they really could give you an escape room experience in a box? You should be aware that each time you put in the wrong code, one minute is deducted from your time! Yikes! The tension is real, the clues are great, and you really do have to work for it. We had a group of six with ages ranging from 11 to 40+ and we divided and conquered the clues based on our strengths. Each escape game has three stages of clues. You open an envelope that gives you the clues (maps, puzzles, etc.) and there are hint cards just like you would get at a real escape room. Once you solve that set of clues, you move to the next one. We failed the first time. If you don't get it in 60 minutes you can either keep going (the clock starts counting up) OR you can wait and try again another day. We waited. It took two attempts for us and we skated it in the final seconds of the second try. Everyone had fun and we all worked together. You do have to commit to not cheating (i.e. don't access the clues too soon) but it works. The pieces and clues can be restocked by downloading them online when you are done in case you want to let it cool off and then do it again sometime in the future." —Amanda Krikle

Get it from Amazon for $22.49.

    8. Digital Detox cards to encourage yourself to step away from the internet for large and small chunks of time. Each card gives you a different challenging including taking an early morning walk, a 24-hour digital break, and even simply putting away your phone when you're on public transportation.

Promising review: "I LOVE this product! I have whiplash and the pillow provides nice support for my neck while the deluxe model mat provides cushion for my aching back. Additionally, I usually slide down into the tub because I’m short. The pillow and mat provide support so that doesn’t happen. I have a semi-porous finish on my tub, so it’s very hard to find a pillow that will adhere to that surface. This one has many extra-large suction cups, holding the mat in place. For anyone having trouble with that issue, the trick is to put the mat in before adding the water and press hard on each suction cup. The suction cups are easy to remove. Just empty the tub and slide them... So, all of you bath lovers out there, add your Epsom salt or whatever and relax away!!" —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $39.95+ (available with or without a pillow).

    13. A puzzle and puzzle plateau that'll keep all of your jigsaw pieces in place with its flat surface and raised edges that prevent them from falling. Promising review (for the puzzle): "This is our second Buffalo Games puzzle and we are thrilled with the challenge and the beautiful, vibrant colors. Some pieces easily fit in the wrong spot so it definitely keeps you on your toes. I give it an A+!" —T. Monday

Promising review (for the puzzle table): "I purchased this item as a gift for my husband who loves working on a good puzzle. He absolutely adores this puzzle keeper. The pull-out drawers are perfect because he sorts pieces by color when he's working on a puzzle. He also loves how this makes a puzzle portable, at least from one room to another. Additionally, the small edge that sticks up on two of the four sides helps keep stray puzzle pieces from falling on the floor." —Mommycat3

Get the puzzle from Amazon for $13.95 and the puzzle table for $64.98.

    14. And an adjustable bamboo bathtub tray for propping up food, drinks, books, hopes, dreams and whatever else you might need for a relaxing, internet-free soak sesh. This'll further encourage you to get the self-care thing together, STAT.

Promising review: "Love this! Nothing beats a long luxurious soak in the tub to relieve the stress of the day and this bath caddy makes it more enjoyable by giving me a safe place to put a glass of wine and my kindle. Bonus: My 5-year-old grandson will now ask to take a bath when he visits me so I can serve him milk and cookies in the tub and he can read his book. Big thumbs up!" —Kindle Customer

Get it from Amazon for $34.64.

    15. The Spontuneous game that requires one player to choose a word while the others think of a song with that word in the lyrics. Note: You do not have to have the voice of an angel. In fact, it'll make for a much funnier night if you sound as terrible as possible., Amazon

Promising review: "The game brought laughs and tears running down our cheeks as the whole table would break out into a song. This game is fun for any family who wants to have a good time, is willing to laugh at each other, and can think fast on their toes. The rules are pretty simple and the turns around the table go fast. We had to think of about nine trigger words each and play with about nine people as well. The game works in both partners and individuals. I would recommend anyone play the game and take it to every party. Introverts do have a hard time playing when there are a lot of extroverts who will shout and yell the lyrics right over the top of someone quiet. Make sure you have a team spirit in mind and remember that the game is supposed to be fun for everyone, and you won't regret purchasing this game." —Canary

Get it from Amazon for $27.99.

    16. Empowerment question cards can bring yourself a lil' more personal time and positivity. There are 52 cards decorated in bright colors with questions that'll inspire introspection, meditation, and self-motivation. Reviewers used them for a variety of things including journaling, group activities at work, ice breakers at get-togethers, and even therapy sessions.

Pondering the answers to these cards and journaling them could be super therapeutic! Put your cell in the jail cell for three hours and sit with these cards for a lil' introspective fun.

Promising review: "I really like these cards. A lot of great thought-provoking, meditating, and journaling questions/ideas. The Empowering Questions cards are larger than a deck of playing cards. I love the size of these cards. I have actually gifted a few decks to friends that I thought would enjoy meditating or journaling about these questions." —Suz Burke

Get them from Amazon for $13.40.

    17. An adult coloring book that'll help keep you busy around the house, relieve a little stress, and help you (kinda) channel the Basquiat that is truly in all of us.

Promising review: "This is a really fun adult coloring book. Unlike a lot of animal-based books, the images of the animals in this one are drawn in a mosaic style that allows for maximum creativity. When I have used non-mosaic, field guide style coloring books, I have worried about trying to make the animals an accurate color, thus defeating the purposes of the book in the first place (stress relief and having fun coloring). Also, ever since the coloring craze took hold, a lot of books have skyrocketed in price. I was pleased to find this one on Amazon for a good deal." —Anonymitea

Get it from Amazon for $5.54

It sounds simple but yes, this game will make the night for kids and adults alike.

Promising review: "My BF and I were at the Brain Store one day and he was very intrigued by a game called Katamino, which is a wooden puzzle game. It was a bit pricey so I decided to look for a cheaper version to surprise him with. Then I remembered Jenga!! The next time he was in town visiting, I surprised him with this and he LOVED it!! We played it for hours. Whenever I visit him he always asks me to bring this game. If you're 21+ then add alcohol for A LOT more fun!!" —YAHsmart

Promising review: "I am a 'medium' ability crossword solver, not Mensa, but I know a few things. This book is great for several reasons. The first is readability. The words aren't too small or large but just right. Secondly, there is quite a variety of new versus old themes and modern versus nostalgia. Thirdly, there are A LOT of puzzles.
