CONGRATULATIONS! You live in one of the greatest democracies in the world. One of the reasons for Australia's gloriously stable system is that we have compulsory voting.
But there's a catch: you have to enrol.
Once an election has been called, there are14 days to get onto the roll OR change your details so you are being counted in the right electorate.
It's really important. The Australian Electoral Commission thinks about 18% of young people are missing from the roll.
So head over to the AEC's website right now to enrol or update your details. We've timed it. It takes literally four fucking minutes.
And look, when you get to the end and the AEC asks what prompted you ... you can tell them BuzzFeed sent you*
You've got until May 23 to do it. So hop to it and don't miss out on being counted.
