Remember back in the last parliament (i.e. April) governor general Peter Cosgrove dissolved the parliament and then went around shaking hands?
He totally swerved Labor's Tanya Plibersek!
It was epic cringe and Plibersek copped a vicious sledge from Liberal backbenchers.
GG Cosgrove shakes Shorten's hand. Plibersek goes in for a shake, gets rejected + Labor heckles 'that says a lot, know your place Tanya'.
But Cosgrove was apparently mortified, ringing Plibersek and apologising for the handshake snub.
Well fast forward to today and the opening of the new parliament. Cosgrove went around shaking hands again and when he stopped in front of Plibersek... well... it was pretty lovely.
Naw. Stop it.
