Bali Nine Ringleader Received His Art Degree Just Last Week

Sukumaran was awarded his fine arts qualification from WA uni.

Australian artist Ben Quilty has posted Myuran Sukumaran's associate degree in fine arts which he recieved fom WA's Curtin University last week.

Quilty posted it alongside a photo of Sukumaran, cuffed and surrounded by military guards, being transported to his pending execution.

He asks, "Who are you (Indonesian president) Joko Widodo?"

The Archibald winning artist befriended Sukumaran while the Bali Nine ringleader waited on death row in a Bali prison.

Quilty told ABC's RN, he considered Sukumaran a friend and talented artist: "I can’t think of a young man with a more powerful background, life experience and darkness. All the things I’ve been working on with masculinity for so long."

Quilty has been calling for Indonesia to show mercy to both Sukumaran and Andrew Chan, who are scheduled to be executed for drug offences in the coming weeks.
