Qdoba Claps Back On National Avocado Day After Chipotle Servers Went Down.

Chipotle's online ordering system is down on National Avocado Day.

Posted on

In case you haven’t heard, today was National Avocado Day. To honor this glorious day, Chipotle is offering free guacamole with the purchase of an adult entrée.

Unfortunately, Chipotle’s website was not prepared for the overwhelming response, and users saw this screen when trying to order online.

The company’s official Twitter posted this tweet in response.

Free guac on National Avocado Day, groundbreaking. Actually, internet-breaking. Getting our servers back up ASAP. 👨‍💻

Of course, someone then responded and said everyone would be running to Qdoba for their free guac.

@ChipotleTweets Boo!! You’re too late. It’s lunch time and we’re all going to @qdoba for free guac ‘round the clock

Qdoba responded in no time to take advantage of the situation and maybe some free advertising.

@ThisIsNotJace @ChipotleTweets All day. Every day. #freetheguac

Well played, Qdoba. Well played.
