We've Gathered 13 Cosy Items For The Person Who Can Never Get Warm

It is upsetting to me that summer is basically over.

We hope you love the products we recommend! All of them were independently selected by our editors. Oh, and FYI — prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication.

I am always cold. Like, I have hot soup for lunch in the middle of summer.

My colleagues have questioned my meal choices on more than one occasion.

If you, too, are the type of person to shudder at even the slightest hit of air-con, or are simply planning for the cold months ahead, here are 13 cosy things to help keep you warm.

    1. This electric hand warmer, for when gloves just won't cut it.

    Amazon

You can adjust this ~handy~ gadget's temperature all the way up to 45°C — perfect for warming cold fingers! Plus, it charges USB-compatible devices, should your portable charger run out of juice. Its rechargeable battery lasts for up to three hours — though if you need one with longer life, there is also a model that lasts six hours!

    2. This coffee warmer, because nothing says a good start to the day/year/decade like a cup of tea that doesn't go cold.

    Amazon

This little gadget can be conveniently plugged into your laptop so you always have a warm coffee/tea/soup when necessary. Easy-to-clean and compact, you can bring it from your desk at home to the office with no trouble at all.

    3. This electric blanket, because regular blankets aren't cutting it in the middle of the night when your partner inexplicably turns the air-con on at full blast.

    Kmart

This super plush blanket features a detachable controller (ideal for when you don't need its heating function) and adjustable, timed heat settings. With a 12-month warranty (and a ridiculously low price), you can't go wrong.

    Buy for $35 from Kmart.

    4. This khaki down jacket, which thousands of people have bought and loved — so much so, it has its own Instagram fan page.

    Maitland Quitmeyer / BuzzFeed

This coat come in six different colours and 10 different sizes.

"This coat HAS IT ALL! It's puffy and super-insulated but not *giant* and covers the butt (very key when you're wearing thin leggings on the bottom all winter — the wind goes right through 'em). The VERY generously sized hood has a sherpa lining for extra toastiness. I very rarely, if ever, find jackets with hoods that actually go all the way over my head (and hair) to shelter my face from the elements, so that's a HUGE PLUS for me. It has tonnes and tonnes of pockets, including zipper pockets to stash stuff in (so you don't need a purse!) and plus size open pockets to keep your hands toasty on a walk. And it's just really darn cute! I love the green colour and the grosgrain zipper pulls to add a little extra chicness."

    5. This oversized, pure merino wool scarf, which can double as a blanket for when you want to curl up under your desk and nap.

    Amazon

Can't you just imagine curling into a ball, covering yourself with this pashmina scarf and never emerging? Made from merino wool (the strongest and softest of wool fibres), it is 1m x 2m — more than big enough for that layered scarf look over your leather jacket, or as a throw when you want nothing more than to lie on your couch on a Friday night.

Buy for $92 from Amazon Australia.

    6. These opaque tights from Bonds, to wear under all the dresses and skirts that live in your closet.

    Bonds

First of all, it's Bonds, so you know it's going to be quality. These tights are matte — so won't reflect the light — and are cut at the waist, so no digging into your tummy or slipping down!

    7. These classic Uggs, which I have owned for 12 years and are still going strong.

    Mariela Summerhays / BuzzFeed

I will tell you right now, these here are among the very best things I've ever invested in. I bought them for my first trip to Europe, in the middle of winter, and they kept my toes so toasty and warm. I've had Ugg knock-offs since and they honestly do not at all compare at all. Most people think of tan Uggs when buying, but I like the black — more subtle when paired with black leggings.

Buy for $220 from The Iconic.

    8. These sock slippers, which will let you walk around in your socks without the risk of slipping and cracking your head open.

    Amazon

Okay, that's a bit morbid, but the danger is real, as serial sock-wearers will attest. These thermal yarn socks have been designed to be seven times warmer than your average cotton sock (!) and feature non-slip padding at the sole.

Buy for $14.99 from Amazon Australia.

    9. This thermal crew long-sleeved tee, to wear underneath everything, at all times.

    Uniqlo

No doubt you've already heard of Uniqlo's HEATTECH material, if you've not already tried it. This super thin, lightweight fabric has a soft, brushed lining that retains aaalll the body heat. It's just a super brilliant, convenient way to fight the chills.

    Buy for $39.90 from Uniqlo.

    10. These super soft, velour insoles for when you want to make your shoes that much more cosy.

    Amazon

Ugh, that feeling of slipping your bare feet into cold, smooth-lined shoes? I just got chills now imagining it. Thank goodness for these clever insoles that are topped with cosy velour and lined with latex foam for that extra bit of insulation.

Buy from $8.89 from Amazon Australia.

    11. These sleeping bag onesies, if you dread camping because despite all the layers, you can never quite get warm.

    Amazon

Insulate your body from head to toe, with this wearable sleeping bag. Hands can be cocooned in with the rest of you, or exposed thanks to foldable cuffs. There are multiple pockets to legs and torso (no having to undress to reach your phone in your trackies) and detachable booties. Choose from one of five colours.

    12. This wine-red knit dress, if you, too, refuse to give up dresses in autumn.

    The Iconic

For someone who doesn't dig layers or pants, autumn fashion can be difficult. My absolute go-to outfit is an oversized sweater dress with knee high boots — and this dress here is perfect. Featuring a cosy cowl neckline, balloon sleeves and the cosiest, fluffy knit construction, it'll be like you never left the warmth of your bed.

RRP$119.95 / Buy now for $60 from The Iconic.

Cold floors not an issue? Throw it over your desk chair for a warm hug whenever you're in front of your monitor.

    Buy for $79 from Ikea.

You, introducing all these things into your life.
