First Generation Kids — What Would You Like To Say To Your Parents?

The older I become, the more I realise how much my parents sacrificed for me.

Growing up and being the child of immigrants was interesting. My parents and I didn't always see eye to eye.

All those times my mates were out and about while I was made to study, really bothered me as a teenager. I know now it's only because they didn't want me to have their experience of poverty, and education is the one thing that people can't take away from you.

Maybe you never felt like "everyone else" — but now you're grateful for the language, culture and food your parents have passed down to you.
