They do it in the wild. Perhaps not ALL the time, but they do, especially babies at play.
They aren’t stabbed, tyvm. Elephants, like dogs and horses, have worked alongside humans since time immemorial. Perhaps *you* should educate yourself further instead of falling for animal rights propaganda. How exactly do you know what trainers learn or don’t learn about elephants? Are YOU an elephant trainer?
Interesting that animal rights(which is NOT about animal welfare), advocates are screaming that animals shouldn’t be exploited but that’s exactly what these groups do. Over and over again.
Typically, people who have no leg to stand on always resort to name-calling.
These aren’t “wild” elephants, they weren’t taken from the wild, they’re born into the care of humans. Please stop swallowing the AR propaganda. ANYone can post a picture, often carefully cropped by AR, and make it anything they want, SAY anything they want about it. I trust those who work with elephants every day, who care for them, love them, to know what they’re doing. If not for our circuses and zoos and their conservation efforts elephant survival would be close to being history.
As far as how circuses “get them to do those tricks”, they’re natural behaviors. You know, the same way a dog sits naturally and learns to do it on command. WHY so many people choose to believe groups that know little to nothing about animals rather than those who work/with/them/daily, those who are EXPERTS, I’ll never understand.
Please keep in mind that the animal rights ultimate goal is to end ALL animal ownership, and that includes the cherished family pet.
